IMPORTANT: This license has some dubious provisions and is nonfree. In particular, the nonviolence provision, despite good intentions is bad news for a permissive or free license. Vaguely worded in the copyright legal sense. The "bruising egos" note doesn't have legal value and doesn't belong in a license to begin with. The "competing library" clause is just bad news for an non-viral implicit grant... In case you want to get rid of it as dependency, delete `libopentrack-tracker-wii' from your `modules` directory. That'll get rid of all uses of this library, and the license will no longer be in force. When building opentrack from source, you can also add add `if(FALSE) as the first line of `tracker-wii/CMakeLists.txt` and `endif()` as the last line. That will prevent building the library altogether, making the license also not apply. In plain terms, deleting `libopentrack-tracker-wii` will get rid of ALL references to the WiiYourself library. The terms will be null and void in that build. I hope the license only applies when the code is actually used, not merely linked into a process. -- Stanislaw Halik License text follows: ____________________________________________________________ - WiiYourself! - native C++ Wiimote library v1.15 (c) gl.tter 2007-10 - http://gl.tter.org ____________________________________________________________ LICENSE: My Wiimote library is free for any use (including commercial), with the following conditions: 1) You may not use it to harm anyone, directly or indirectly. * this includes, but is not limited to, any kind of direct or indirect MILITARY use or related research * (but bruising egos is fine ;). 2) Any distribution in binary form (ie. linked with your program) must include the following text in your distribiutions's documentation (ReadMe file, help file, About box and/or splash screen): "contains WiiYourself! wiimote code by gl.tter http://gl.tter.org" 3) Any distribution in source code form must keep all my copyright notices intact unmodified (you can add to them if you've made changes), and must include this license text (either include this file in your distribution, or paste its contents into your distribution's own licence file). 4) You may not use the code to produce a competing library, unless you rewrite all of it considerably (for example to convert it to another language, but you need to contact me for written permission first).
